Types of allergy There are many types of aller­gies. Some of the most com­mon food aller­gies * are more com­mon in chil­dren than in adults. Food aller­gies are more com­mon in peo­ple who have a hered­i­tary ten­dency to develop aller­gic dis­eases. These peo­ple are more likely to have asthma and other aller­gies. Aller­gic reac­tions are fre­quent and unpre­dictable. The sever­ity of the aller­gic reac­tion caused by cer­tain drugs may vary. * Aller­gies to insect venom.
